Mark Rapoza has been with Barrett & Company since 1994 and is a Vice President at the Firm. He is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary and holds both the CFS® and CIS™ designations from the Institute of Business. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts. Mark resides in Westport, MA with his wife Nina and their three children
Mr. Rapoza helps lead Barrett & Company’s Wealth Management Team. He is active in shaping both investment philosophy and policy and co-leads our financial planning initiatives through eMoney Advisor.
- An Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation means Mr. Rapoza has specialized knowledge of fiduciary responsibility and the ability to implement policies and procedures that meet a defined standard of care. To achieve the AIF® designation Mr. Rapoza completed a rigorous training program and passed a comprehensive, closed-book, proctored exam. Ongoing continuing education and adherence to the Code of Ethics and Conduct Standards are required to maintain the AIF® designation.
- A CFS® or Certified Fund Specialist designation means that Mr. Rapoza is qualified to provide basic and advanced guidance on a wide range of actively and passively managed investments. He can assist you to determine your risk level, set realistic goals, design an appropriate portfolio, minimize taxes and protect your estate. To achieve the CFS® designation Mr. Rapoza completed a comprehensive advanced program designed to educate the advisor on every aspect of modern portfolio theory (MPT), mutual funds, ETFs, REITs, UITs, EANs, CEFs, asset rebalancing and taxation. Ongoing continuing education and adherence to the Code of Ethics and Conduct Standards are required to maintain the CFS® designation.
- A CISTM or Certified Income Specialist designation means Mr. Rapoza has specialized knowledge to provide basic and advanced guidance in generating and managing plans that provide a stable stream of retirement income. He can assist you in creating and protecting a well-diversified retirement portfolio filled with fixed and variable-rate investments. To achieve this designation Mr. Rapoza completed a comprehensive advanced program designed to educate the advisor on fixed income, preferred stocks, guaranteed investments and withdrawal plans. Ongoing continuing education and adherence to the Code of Ethics and Conduct Standards are required to maintain the CIS™ designation.
